What is the Gaelchara scheme?
The aim of this scheme is to give learners of Irish the opportunity to improve their language skills through using and practicing their Irish in a fun and social setting with a native speaker. The native speaker introduces the learner to the world of Irish as a community language.
The learner and native speaker may spend an hour or two a week speaking and practicing Irish together while taking part in a past-time of their choice.
The pair receive financial support which goes towards their activity.
Who can take part?
The scheme is open to (i) learners of Irish who live in Cloughaneely, and (ii) native Irish speakers from Cloughaneely.
